I have noticed an increased amount of these on the roads lately, i have a few questions.
Do you have to do a seperate test for these? or can u drive them on a C+E license? Are they difficult to drive, especially reverse? Whats the point of them, when u have artics? can they carry more than artics in weight and volume?
Got my theory test on the 5th July, then i can start my practical, cant wait!

Volvo FH16 is the right choice for heavy goods transports over long distances. The powerful 16-litre engine makes it possible to maintain high average speeds.
LOVE IT!
You drive them on a C+E Licence.
The C part of the licence is for rigid goods vehicles, 17 tonner or an artic unit for instance, and the E part is for trailers.
Going forward they cut in on corners less than an artic, the trailer follows the prime mover better, and going backwards it’s a case of getting used to it, the same as with artics. You can get more on them volume wise.
One point of them is that you can split them and just take the prime mover into places you may not be able to acces with an artic.
Thanks for answering my questions m8.
cheers
Matt.

Nutz about Volvos

It’s much of a muchness Silent One I get on with them ok in fact I quite enjoy driving them but different drivers like different motors and they are all justified in their preferances.

Maybe in a few years you’ll get one

The Volvo that I had for three weeks was ok to drive, but (personal opinion!), awful to live in…Plenty of room but nowhere to put anything. FH12 420 not the xl, which may have been better
Plenty of room in the XL to put things, 6 cupboards although I have the fridge in one and the microwave takes up the best part of another. Then there is the two outside lockers and you get under bed storage in some, mine doesnt have that though.

You own one yourself then coffee, lucky bugger. Any pics?
