We all know there are good and bad drivers in every group and everyone always want to know who we think is the worst.
Well what about who is best?
In my opinion when it comes to LGV drivers I would have to say that Fire Fighters are the best drivers amongst LGV drivers.
You never see them being aggressive, they always drive within the law and even when using blue lights they seem to be as considerate as possible. It is a shame others cannot follow their example.

Very good Pete. Do you happen to know the details of what happened?
I bet I could find far more pics of artics on their sides.
And what does that prove? No more than the picture I posted, there are good and bad drivers from smart cars to artic’s so why go out of your way to cause argument’s?
Hammy747:
Think that was in suffolk and caused by black ice while they were on blues responding to a call.
You’d have thought that under the circumstances of the job that the Fire trucks would be fitted with proper winter tyres during the season to give the lads a fighting chance, bearing in mind they can’t ponce about like the rest of us ‘‘far from the best’’ can.
Of course you can find more artics on their side, work out the percentage of articulated wagons to fire engines on the road and equate the milage between the two

That is my opinion on Lgv drivers.
What is yours?
Stands to reason as they have more training. It’s hardly rocket science to come up with that theory. If you want to raise the standard of driving of today’s LGVs, then it needs a root and branch change to how drivers are given, and then maintain a license.
But that is about as likely as Rachel Riley letting me give her some extra…err…“maths tuition”.
Or Contaflow being nice to agency drivers…
And so we carry on as we have done forever and a day…
If fire engines spent as much time on the road, covering as many miles as other trucks do, then I reckon you’d see plenty of them involved in accidents and their drivers driving like a ■■■■■ now and again.

Why am I going out of my way to cause arguments. I gave an opinion and asked for others opinions.

No you would not because they are proper professionals.
PaulNowak:
Why do so many rigid drivers want to drive artics then?
And a fair few of us have done our time on artics, it’s rigids all the way for me now and I’m negotiating to drop from 26 ton to 10ton MGW…and for more money too!
And as for Albion (the worlds greatest advanced tactical pursuit firearms bomb disposal special forces driving instructor specialist expert), more of his usual [zb].
