right or wrong ?

hi been a while,
was wondering here as i was out on saturday night grimsby to coleshill, once there and done trailer change i pulled up in layby and had a 45 break, i switched the tacho to rest,
which i thought was the norm, after few mins i wanted the radio on, so i turned ignition back on,
you have guessed it guys.
so coming back down the road the digi unit was telling me break due,i thought i had me 45 break and was alright.so after 5hrs 58mins of driving it said, so i pulled in layby and had 45 break, which cleared the time.
did i do right in doing this, or what,
when i printed out end of shift i wrote on the printout my mistake, by turning ignition on,
any help for future
cheers paul

as long as you have explained on a printout, that should cover you.

Unless your truck is different to the norm, you shouldn’t have to switch the ignition on to power the radio, just the first key position should work.

that is a thing with a lot of the digi tacho’s, if you turn on the ignition, it defaults to other work

this can be set by your dealer to default to rest if required

yep wrote explanation on print out,
and it was only the first turn on the ignition as well.
my second break i put to rest and left ignition off and relized then the radio comes on by touching the buttons lol…
thanks for reply though

Once you switch the ign on the mode symbol should flash for a few seconds, press it till it shows break.
