RIDDOR

Is it pronounced Rye-dor or Rid-dor. Got a meeting don’t want to sound stuupiid.

We also used Rid-or. Must be good meeting if that’s a subject!

Solicitors for a claim knocked out at work 3 months later still off with issues.

99 percent sure it`s Rid-dor. Only ever heard it pronounced in this way by persons allegedly in the know! Being an acronym, it makes sense that way.

As far as I’m aware, it’s Rid-Or.

But in the situation you describe I would go in saying Rye-Dor, and sound confused and screw your face up at the same time.

Ya know like you knew how to pronounce it properly once, but now you just can’t quite remember…

Its an abbreviation so is spoken that way Riddor

Ta for your help. I don’t have to pretend to be brain damaged my wife said I’m like a zombie since accident. :open_mouth:

Little advice, if they ask questions be very precise and succinct . Do not feel you have to say more than you have to. You’d be surprised how much people say when they hit the ‘pregnant pause’ bit!

Say your piece then stay quiet, my experience is that if you start to elaborate too much this is when you reel the rope out to hang yourself !

Simple answers, if they want more ask them to rephrase

Sure your solicitor will help [emoji33] ( sorry no faith in any of them ) so take time and think about what your answering .

Sad I’ve been at both ends of RIDDOR to know this.

Have you got HSE report on your side ?

It happened 3 months ago only just got around to putting claim in. Wasn’t going to as was advised not to get stressed but now need specialist treatment. NHS wait for neurologist is 4 months thought with claim could get sooner but not unless company hold their hands up straightaway.

Go for it but let solicitor do most of chasing , you just chase them! Tell them you want quickly sorted, most dither and send stupid one paragraph letters.

Have they gave an indication of claim success? Hope your not paying for it, for once these no win no fee lot come to the fore on these!

Says I have a good case. I’m in a union so using their firm of solicitors so no costs whatsoever.

Good luck!!

Ta. Early days yet only really put claim in to get a private Neurologist but the time for claim to come through compared to NHS is prob about the same. May have to go private to kick start my treatment.

Have a better system here. I fell orf me trailer and landed on me noggin. :open_mouth: Once you put a claim in and it’s accepted, ‘Work Cover’ do everything private. All my Neurologists, rehabilitation, other specialist’s bills were covered. I did get shafted at the end with a much smaller payout than I think I deserved, but I thought I’d be going back to work. :frowning:
