Call me cynical but why has it taken this long for someone to do something about this madness?

The 24/7 line may be a new thing, but the RHA have appeared as much as they probably can in various newspapers and news programmes highlighting the situation, they’ve presented to the transport select committee, lobbyed various bodies. Ultimately the press generally hate trucks so don’t want to give valuable page space to an industry they don’t like and see as more of a problem than an integral part of modern society.

They couldnt give a ■■■■ about drivers normally, but are doing it for those bosses who are members of the RHA.

Its finally got to the point its hurting haulage bosses in the pocket. Before it was just the drivers. Remember that the RHA like the FTA isn’t there to help the drivers.

Of course, we pay their wages. It’s like being a member of Unite, you don’t expect them to take the bosses side.

They’be been campaigning properly since the middle of last year and occasionally before that.

They can campaign all they want but they are not making any difference they have no interest in drivers there are plenty of things that they could campaign about in the UK but they don’t do that either so why do they think it will make any difference when they are campaigning abroad. Saw this morning the BBC going flat out about immigrants being assaulted and the French prosecutor is taking up their case shame they didn’t ask how many assaults against drivers they are looking into, so the immigrants get assaulted and the full force of the law swings into action to find the attackers yet every day the same immigrants damage property and attack drivers and nothing is done. Talk about having your cake and eating it.
