Reward forStolen lorry

Amazing what goes on out there and the stunts some people try to pull.

£1300 ? and look at time inside for it? I wouldn’t consider it for £130,000. 1.3 mil maybe & be off out the country. (but then who wants to live constantly looking over their shoulder?)

Very pleased to hear your lovely old lorry has been found and, by the sound of it, all in one piece.

Sounds like you’re planning to drive it now? No problem, just check oil & water, grease her up & let her sit at a speed she’s comfortable at.

If I lived closer I would gladly assist by taking you to collect & then providing an ■■■■■■.

Maybe trucknet members could help in some way of getting your lorry back to you Mike, safe and sound, how heavy is it?

Thanks Driveroneuk, I don’t think Mr Garland is all that bright but to sell a vehicle without the V5 means he’s good liar!

Thanks for the offer, she’s happy at about 40 mph being an ex-PSV so I’ll be sticking to the A roads.

It’s a thought, it weighs in at about 3 and a half ton, but I think I’d better drive it personally this time!

What’s the overall length & width?

I think a known TN member could be trusted.

Might be worth considering posting the job in the Owner Driver’s section? (with a link to this threrad for those who haven’t seen it).

Its suprising what you find on a trailer sometimes. Having opened the doors when picking up the trailer and looking up from ground level, just saw a stack of wooden boxes tight up to the doors.

Wow! I see what you mean, the Albion is about 20ft long and 7ft 6in wide, just a little bigger than the one on the pic.

so, did the truck turn up ? if it did in wa condition ?

Of course it did! The “very good” police will have done a sterling job of apprehending the thief and recovering the truck for Mike. He will be out in his local celebrating the occasion right as I speak.

The lorry or Mr Garland didn’t show up but of course I suspected that he wouldn’t.

Shortly after Mr Garland’s e-mail last week the Bodmin police rang me to tell me they had found my Albion, it was in a garage in Exeter and was safe and inpounded by them as stolen property until such time that I can pick it up. The charming Mr Garland had only sold it to someone for £1300 which illustrates what a con man he is. I was hoping that perhaps, just perhaps, that he might turn up here with some ■■■■ and bull story to demand money and could be apprehended so that is why I have only just posted this.

I am happy that my lorry is safe and hadn’t been sold for scrap but sorry for the poor person who parted with £1300 for it. Garland has added another crime to his record and no doubt will be caught eventually but I have nothing but praise for the police’s work in recovering my property.

Thanks again everyone for your help and support and if you see the Albion on the road it will be myself behind the wheel!

Best regards to all you truckies.

Mike

mike forgive me for asking. do you really belive that idiot would pay£1300 for a vintage vehicle with no v5, from a man he didn,t know. do you think the buyer and mr garland know each other ?

Exactly my thoughts! And come on… the pigs randomly found your truck in someone’s garage in Bodmin!!! Do me a favour… :unamused:

Anyway, all that aside, I’m chuffed for you that you’ve been reunited with it Mike!

Great to see a happy ending to this one…didn’t think you’d ever again see it to be honest. Whatever else you do this time,I’d recommend that you avoid A.N. Other ■■■■■ Transport/Tarmac.com

Hello Mike , have been following this thread ,while keeping my eyes and ears open. Glad its had an happy ending. Well it will when Mr Garland getrs whats coming.

Thanks again everyone out there and especially the police who because of their work my vehicle was found. However even though I am absolutely delighted with their efforts after I had virtually given up ever seeing my Albion again it seems that this isn’t good enough for those who look on the police as enemies.

I have been on the wrong side of the Law in my long life but have never had a bad reaction from ANY police officer despite breaking the law, in fact I have always found them, to a man, polite, patient and respectful in all my dealings with them. They don’t make the laws, it is just their difficult job to try their best to enforce it and what would you have in their place if you happen to break the law? Perhaps a body of men who turn a blind eye when YOU break the law but are there to enforce it when you happen to become a victim of someone else’s crime?

I refuse to look on the police as “pigs”, that term I’d apply to professional criminals like Garland who think it their right to steal rather than work for a living, these are the parasites who deserve your contempt.

Mike, you have to remember that some people have issues with anyone in authority.

Alls, well that ends well!

Any update on this Mike?

Have you got her home?

I am waiting for the police process to proceed to a point where I can be told more information, apparently.
I have no idea what is happening but am assured I will be told in due course. I don’t even know where my lorry is, let alone when, if ever, I will get it back.
Thanks for everyone’s interest.
I will post again when there is any news of interest.

It’s great to hear that our “very good” police force are making such a great effort to resolve this quickly for you.

Yes Rob, they are helping all they can but have to follow the procedure laid down by Law. The Police don’t make the law they are there merely to administer it as best they can and I have no problem with the way they are working to resolve this but because it is “sub judici” I can add no more detail. That is the Law, not the Police dictating what is required, as I say they are doing their level best for me as a victim of a crime.
