I passed a truck on the m6 s yesterday (may have been a scania ) with what appeared to be a small square lamp on the offside step,it was pointed out and back at an angle approx. 45deg ,I`m assuming it was a aid for reversing in the dark anyone got the correct answer??

may have been ,I was in a van travelling down lane 3 (70 and abit 
) ,glanced to my left mirror and caught a glimpse as I went past. so it is a reversing aid ■■
