Engine noises are optional. 
Actually having a toy artic vehicle may well help you see how it works, even if only a little, possibly better if it was RC.

There is only one aid that really helps, it’s practice.
The more practice you have, the better you get.
It takes several years of practice to get it right first time, most of the time.
Even after that much practice, there will still be the occasional reverse that just will not go right.
A toy artic might help a bit in understanding how how it works though.
Buy a ride on tractor and trailer from TOYS R US " give " to your child nephew or what have you and practice with it . The scale is different but the principle remains the same.You could ifyou have a tow bar practice with a trailer .I found it very confusing when I first triedto reverse the artic.
