Hi folks , For the last three years I have been away from driving as such although I have been using a artic tipper on a daily basis just locally as part of my duties in the current job.
I am seriously considering doing something I thought I would never do and that is return to driving,so bored being in the same spot. As each year passes the itchy feet urge gets strongerā¦
I have quite a bit of experience having had a class 1 for the last 20 yrs or so. My last real serious job was working for a small firm on containersā¦Having been away I have not kept upto speed with how things have gone in the world of transport,my digi card has expired so will have to get a new one and not too sure what the position is re the driver cpc.
Any help interms of getting me back upto speed would be great and if anyone is West yorkshire based then any tips on who is hiring and firing and what agencies are reputable and worth working for.
I would get the dcpc done now while it is not too expensive,a lot will leave it to the last minute, and this will be exploited by the firms doing the courses.
How about getting an ADR for packages and tankers, start on small domestic deliveries up to airport refuelling.

Are Elite containers still going in Manchester, they seem ok,based all over, and in Southampton.
Not sure Toby to be honest my last firm (transport) was local just 20 wagons based in south yorks,we used to run the maersk containers , but then the wotsit it the wall globally and after I left they had to search other work as there was not much doing on the containers⦠I did like that job to be fair and was a big decision to leave it due the job im in at the minute being localā¦

Coffeeholic you still around mate,do you still make those videos of your trips,I used to like watching them
Iām still round but havenāt made any videos for about 18 months, might be a couple you havenāt seen here. My trips these days consist of the same double manned run up to Charnock Richard 5 nights a week so no video potential there.
