Welcome back pal, welcome to trucknetUK! :grimacing: the jobs DONALD DUCKED! :unamused: :open_mouth:  :sunglasses:

Yes the wages are poor at the moment, a number of factors lots of Eastern Europeans on the agencies will work for that sort of money, more bums than seats the high costs and small returns for hauliers and the general stagnation of the economy.

The only way to make a reasonable wage in my opinion is to avoid working for a firm that runs trucks for a profit (unless you like 60+ hours a week) supermarket work seems to be the best bet at the moment but this all depends where you live, if you must work for the scum you don’t need an umbrella scheme as they are a con it’s quite simple to sort out your own tax and NI contributions, good luck.

There are plenty of proper paying jobs out there , you just need to look and you will find, job centres are not the best places to look, word of mouth works well.

Dont believe all the doom and gloom merchant bankers who like to tell you otherwise!

i no work everywheres tight but maybe a job shelf stacking pay more…cpc 2014 hope the wages get better by then…also i fpund some agencys send you on any old job even though you stated you wouldnt do that sort of work…everything is temporay or agency…

Where abouts do you live?

Knock onsome doors , I dont know anyone around that way but I am sure something will come up.

Anyone else getting increasingly desperate texts from agencies they once (regret) worked for and wouldn’t touch again with someone else’s, are they struggling poor lambs, oh dear, how sad, never mind…in your best Windsor Davies impression.

Has the licence holder shortage started to appear, will we finally see the few good companies sorting the wheat from the chaff, should be interesting.

With a bit of thought and good old fashioned door knocking, proper jobs can still be found, just don’t expect the good stuff to be readily advertised for any old tom ■■■■ or aristotle to apply online for.

The best vacancies get filled by recommendation, or by a bit of nous getting noticed.

I’m no expert on that part of the world, I should imagine you should be ok plenty of people on here who may be able to help.

ok thanks for your help i find and in my expierence agencys are ok but they do pester a bit and you can tell them till your blue in the face that you dont want certain work but they still try the old you help us out well help you out crap… not going to say i wouldnt drive a class 1 for less than £10pr hour but £7.50 i wouldnt even entertain ive even seen night jobs at less than 9 pound a hour my how things have change :astonished:

If you want earlies, there’s not much work around that doesn’t come with the major strings attached of “being Self Employed” or “join umbrella” or having to work a 40+hour week for less than £9ph…

If, on the other hand, you’re prepared to work afternoons, lates, nights, weekends, sporradic long shifts and other bits the full timers don’t want, then there’s enough work around at decent enough rates to get by.

Try Redditch area. Langdons have that new fancy depot they’ve opened recently. :grimacing:
