Has anyone fitted the illuminated star found on a mp3 to a mp2 Actros 
Is it 12 or 24 volt
I am bidding on ebay for one and the seller reckons i need a switch and separate lead,i thought it would connect straight to 24 volt power 
I’m sure our MP3’s star is 24v and it is fitted through a seperate switch not wired direct to the sidelights.
I wouldnt know for that perticular item but, having learnt about these things at mechanic school, I’d suggest either a relay on the side lights that turns it on or wire it in on it’s own, straight to the batteries if you want to keep it really simple with a switch along the way (doesn’t matter if it’s on the + or - side). Use an inline fuse too.
The reason being, especially if it’s gonna draw lots of current, it’ll make the fuse much more likely to blow (if wired into sidelights directly).
