Great shots Cliff, well done. Looks as if the weather is good also. Who have you met today?
Nathan,(muckaway) I had planned to go to the show but due to unforeseen circumstances (health) had to cancel. I would of been first in and last to leave, surely there is plenty to do, and people to meet.

Forget Truckfest this was a cracking good show with a good turnout of motors. Well done to Graham,Lee and the rest of the Steelboys.
+1 ^^
Thoroughly enjoyed the show, as did my lad. Just the right era for me and so many memories of different lorries that I have driven and all the others that I saw while trundling about
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Proper trucks and good people, spoke to loads of folk and learnt a lot.
The guy with the ‘L’ reg 88/86 is a good laugh, had a fair bit of Oak on it, worth a few bob I reckon…Oak is not a cheap wood these days! Trailer is a 1971 example and he knows all the C&U regs Good to see a proper truck, earning a living and blasting the bull crap outta the sky
Thought I’d post a few pictures. Except it will only allow me to post two pictures, weird anyone got any ideas why ? will try again later. Really good day out some great trucks credit to owners.
So what was everyones’ top 3? Mine were F88 log wagon (has to be, nearly 40 years old and still working)
Carpenters’ F88 (my son loved the noise it made) and the London Fire Brigade Shelvoke fire engine (never seen it before but thought “London’s Burning” when I did).
Model show was great, although we had to keep moving as my son thought they were toys for him.
Great to see the new Classic Truck mag on sale; I bought one, and reckon it’ll do damage to CVCs’ readership.

Hello Paul John, I met Andrew (pete 359) and a few who I didn’t know there names, perhaps we ought to wear badges, great show, would like to see it combined with the BRS show, and maybe a middle east section.

I’dve probably stayed a bit longer but with a wife and 18month old in tow there was not much for them. To be honest I didn’t take many photos as I knew that others would post the same on here, and I’ve got pics of most from attending other shows. I’ve walked around the car museum several times before. There didn’t seem to be many stalls there, I kept away from the bling merchant and to be honest I was disgusted with the model plant seller with the walk in bus; Great models (I wanted a modern Volvo loader and a classic Cat one) but when I went to walk in I was met by 2x chain smokers ■■■■■■ and blinding. I hate ■■■ smoke and I’m not having my son listen to their language.
Hasn’t put me off attending future shows but I’d looked forward to this one as all the others I visit were cancelled this year.

Well Cliff, you were able to speak to one of the Steelboy’s, and a fellow South Wales one . Andrew is a well respected member for sure.
You would of thought someone from the Midlands would have a motor in Richard Fords or Ware transport colours, probably a 2800 Daf out there looking for an identity.
Went up to Gaydon from Essex today and had a great time with my mate; we both did the first Retro Show and also attended this years Classic & Commercial Show and we still saw truck’s today we hadn’t seen displayed before; a real credit to the owners - nice one guys!!
Won’t be posting any photos due to lowlifes stealing them and making money on fleabay, sorry!!
My top three trucks were the following… Swains of Stretton Scania 141 wagon & drag, Essex International Scania 141 and TMA Bark Supplies DAF 3300, all stunning classic retro trucks
As an aside, hope my boss doesn’t buy one of the new Globetrotters on display today, what a mess they l@@k and feel!!

Paul , a Richard Ford DAF 2800 or Scania 111 would make a great exhibit, but I’m Bias as I worked for him in the 70’s/80’s, Wares was always a cracking livery i thought too.
i saw our old scania which we sold 3 years ago to a supposedly good home. saw it yesterday 3 years on looking rough and with a bird nesting in the chassis.
