Failed my first cat C test a month ago for driving through an amber which I should have stopped for, didn’t feel comfortable hoying the ankers on the last minute the pouring rain so carried on through.
Anyhow fast foward a month with no driving due to work and money tightness I wasn’t the most confident person at 8am this morning. Started off with the reversing manoeuvre and nailed it, so off onto the roads for an hour. Couple mistakes I knew I made and at one point I thought ■■■■■ failed it but kept my cool and steamed on. 60 mins later I arrived back at the test centre to hear those well I’m pleased to say words
Congratulations,it does you good going into a test not feeling confident imo makes you concentrate more than going in over confident!
Congratulations its a great feeling when you pass.
Just wonder if an instructor can give some advice on when it is acceptable to go through amber. I know what the highway code says but is there a fool proof method to follow. Should you be slowing down quite a bit on approach anticipating the change (for test anyway

I know may be different standards but I sat my car test and went thru an amber/red light and it had been raining and my examiner told me ‘I would of failed you if you had stopped’ he later explained as I had checked my mirrors and noticed a car up my backside I would of caused an accident and the crossing had nobody waiting at it on my near side.
Its a tough one when you dunno when to stop or keep going, I can fully understand if you see an amber but then speed up for it when you have plenty time to slow/stop, but sometimes it’s last minute and there’s nothing you can do but keep going.
Well done, it was well worth the re test then! As for the light situation, I think its down to a few things, the examiners descression, the weather on the day an who and whats around you.
Well done fruit desert!
As for slamming the anchors on at a amber/red light in the rain. It didn’t save the Volvo I hit up the arse many years back in a Nissan Primera, as I wrote the Volvo off!
He had ABS, and I didn’t!
P.S. GF wasn’t happy, it was her insurance policy!
