Restoring a Faded Photograph

Here is a pic of myself, my brother and sister sat on a Puch Maxi in September 1976, a week or so before my 16th birthday. Dig them groovy flares!

Other colour photos I have from the time are unfaded, this must have been taken on a duff batch of film.

I have tried everything to restore the colour to this pic but I just cannot work out to do it.

If you know how to do it and it isn’t too much of a chore, I would promise to love you forever!

I don’t need man love, especially from a man!
That is all I have on my PC

Thanks, but to be honest the second one is worse, I already know how to do that

I’m sure it was you who recently posted a photo from the mid-sixties of AEC trucks on a loading bay which had obviously been colour-restored, that’s the sort of thing I’m looking for.

I think someone who lives in Thailand is the bloke who can enhance the colours, but Microsoft picture manager just does what I did.

Adobe Photoshop will do it.

Adobe Photoshop will do it.

Or GimPhoto based on gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program) combined with the PSPI plugin.

It’s free (rather than £650 for photoshop) and with the PSPI plugin can use photoshop plugins.

That’s great, thanks, I owe you a breakfast/beer!

Best yer goin’ to get H. There’s a blue rectangle that blocks any ajustment.

can you rescan the original at a higher resolution?
Why is there a blue rectangle on the picture, is this where you have tried to edit it before posting?

This has been quite interesting
