The driver cpc should be abolished now its the biggest load of crap ever i havent got a clue what they are trying to achieve with it.There`s no pass or fail its solely an attendance thing so you could go in with a few newspapers and read them for 7 hours and you have got 1 years worth of crap.It may sound a bit strong but it is a waste of time and money and an insult to most drivers intelligence

Get something pre-1960, big as you like, drive on a car licence, no MOT needed if it’s over 3.5t gross, free road tax.

There is an exemption from Driver CPC [personal/non- commercial use] so if that was all you were ever going to use the licience for you should be ok without CPC.
