Restart of my training

Hi guys well i have now had the all clear to restart my training after the carry on in finding out about diabettes during the last course causing me to stop as the diabettes wasnt controlled, but it is now and i can start again in the process of gaining my lgv 2 and get into the recovery business. I have been looking at going with my previouse training company they want £530 for 4 days plus test the trainer is spx lagta and anyone who can help or add anyt5hing regarding wether this is good price or bad…

£530 for 4 days plus test

Too cheap for words!! Ask the following questions before going ahead:

How many hours per day?
1:1 or 2:1 tuition?
Including VAT?
Including test fee?
Any extra charges at all for anything?

Would be interested to know the outcome. All the best, Pete

PS If it’s what it says it is, find out where he gets his diesel = = must have a better supplier than me!!

asked all the question pete i am getting a reduced rate due the fact i have already paid for 7 days and only done 70% so pretty good of them realy i think they could have charged me full price, incidently its 2:1 whitch i dont mind if it keeps price down

Makes perfect sense. Nice to see you’ve found a trainer who seems to want to treat you fairly. Very best of luck with it. Hope you didn’t mind me being so questioning. Pete

Hi dodester,

That’s great news indeed mate, and I’m very pleased for you.

I’m also heartened to see that Lagta is treating you fairly.

I’ve just had a look at their website and it looks all good to me:

Lagta is also on the list of LGV providers recommended by TN members, so the job’s a good 'un.

no worries pete some new people could have been caught out with cheaper prices by some of the rogues that seem to be kidding on to be training companys, yesterday was at truckfest edinburgh were there was a training company who will remain nameless who were telling people they can get you ready for your test using there SIMULATOR :unamused: wonder how many people have fell for it and gonna get the shock of there lives come test time :open_mouth: , I am gonna have to wait slightly longer to get restarted with lagta but due to the fact they have been kind enough to see me ok with regards price for new training i am also going to book my module four training with them  ,Dieseldave i realy couldnt fault them mate the training i done with them the last time was ace, only problem is there vehicles are like 7.5s on steroids but at the end of the day once you have passed the test then you will be looked upon to drive all shapes and sizes of rigids.

Hi dodester,
I’d like to ask you a question about your impression of what the company said to you regarding their simulator please.

From what they said, did you get the impression that the simulator was to replace on-road training, or do you think they meant that it was to be used an additional training aid please?

dd this was being pushed as in there words “cheaper option of training” not an aid or additional support but as an alternative :open_mouth: at which point i kind of laughed at the young lad who was i think trying to convince himself that it was actually a viable alternative, kind of through me a bit that anyone could possibly see simulation as a viable method of training someone to drive anything never mind an LGV.Gee

Good luck with the rest of your training Dodester. I was at Truckfest Edinburgh too and know said company you are talking about. I didn’t get the pleasure of seeing this for myself as I’m already booked with the other training company that was there.

yeah cool whitch company you with ritchies or gtg

Well thats it all sorted out and roll on the begining of sept for module 2 and end sept for my training

4 days in a lorry isn’t really enough, let alone learning on a playstation.

Yeah too right, but a “SIMULATOR” to get you to test standard, it’s got to be a joke right?

One step up from using a Lego truck

A simulator could be used as an aid but defo not to replace

May be they should use a simulator instead of the HPT test might be better :bulb:
