Rest periods

Am I right in thinking that during my rest periods, I cannot carry out any work?

My wife keeps telling me to put up shelves, mow the lawn, clear out the shed etc.

I have told her that under tacho regulations, I have to be resting which includes: drinking beer and watching F1, running a bath and lying in it for hours on end.

Am I right?

What a lovely idea!

When I was driving I used to tell the missus that I was glad to get back to work for a rest.

Absolutely, and you can also quote the WTD. i was in the same position until i mentioned to her that i have worked 60 hrs already, so she politely said i shouldnt be on the computer, as thats work too.

tried it.
she threw a magnet at me.

the regs dont say what sort of other work
aint allowed

so the safe option is to not do any
unless its cash in hand for a mate
