Residents of Ringslade Road,Wood Green, North London, were left angry after a HGV got stuck on the corner of the street yesterday.
The lorry, which tried to drive down the controversial “rat run”, was eventually freed by a team of 7 to 10 police officers.
Anyone driving a vehicle weighing over 7.5 tonnes down Ringslade Road can be subject to a penalty fine under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, however, no fines have ever been issued.
Parminder Sandhu, who has been campaigning against the volume of traffic cutting through Ringslade Road, accused the council of doing little to enforce the law.
Why would he have been round there unless he was tipping or loading ? He can’t blame pratnav; you can see it’s not much more than a goat track and there’s a sign at the end with a weight limit. Can’t see too much in the way of businesses where he could have been going around there.
I’m all for sticking up for a driver who’s just trying to earn a living, but ffs !
Cosmic:
I wonder how many of those curtain-twitching arsh**s offered to move their cars.

Looking at the general crappiness of said parked cars, it would probably be a better strategy for the residents to let the truck write them all off, and get back more than enough from the yard insurance policy!
They might not have moved them - I bet they damned well filmed it all from behind twitching curtains though eh?

In one of the pictures the two units on the left hand side are definitely commercial, we go down similar roads, ok not through a weight limit but most definitely as tight.
In another part of London, residents have parked their cars in strategic positions to make it hard for trucks to get through.
All very well untill they need a fire appliance to rescue them from their burning house.
as its 2 x 20 boxes it could have even been a house move coming back to the UK , did a few for guys leaving HMF from Germany etc and having everything taken direct to their new home.
