But I think intelligent discussion and reasoned debate is something they can’t comprehend let alone master.
I think that’s a valid point. I frequent other forums and mostly there is far less abuse and far more discussion.
Don’t get me wrong it’s not all like that but Sammyn has made a point which is not entirely untrue.
Cue the abuse.
Read his posting history and you’ll see why he has got the response he has, you continually tell us driving is not skilled and any dimwit can do it, well not apparently if you’re called Sammyn and then calls us all dimwits, oh the irony!!!
Sorry but I have not read any of his posts that I can remember. I do tend to skip through some stuff.

I think you’ll get a similar response on ANY forum after you insult their members.
No, I am not insulting anyone. It’s the way this forum is. Maybe other forums don’t allow abuse, I don’t know but there is far more discussion of opinions.
Take discomans last post. He makes a point that a guy is struggling to drive a truck. Possibly true but that same guy may be highly qualified and able to do things a truck driver could never do.
It’s the way of the world and it seems to be a problem on here at times.
But that does not give him the right to insult those that can do something he can’t

Odd that you thought my post was referring to you.
Anyway, my point is, and I’ve seen this on cycling,
car and football forums, that if you make a broad sweeping statement such as this:
sammym:
I think what you need to remember is that much of the membership on here come from the lower echelons of society. I say this not to be rude. But I think intelligent discussion and reasoned debate is something they can’t comprehend let alone master.
It’s a shame. But we have all experienced these types. Doing manual jobs and dreaming they are the most important people in the world. They get hostile towards those who they know are better than them. Rather than aspiring to operate on that level they would rather roll around in muck with people on their own low level. Giving bile and abuse to those simply out of jealousy.
then people will respond in kind.

The most telling self-reflection comes from people who get upset about my observation. I didn’t single anyone out - but certain people felt it was about them. Very interesting indeed.
I don’t feel singled out by you at all , far from it in fact. .
But you are a colossal Pr1ck

Yes you did, you singled out those who disagreed with your infantile first post, by insulting them in your second post…and then accusing them of being jealous of you (bizzarely
) because they disagreed.
The same people of which you have asked for advice in the past on here, during your inadequacy and persistent incompetence in the job.
How’s that for you for ''intelligent discussion and ‘‘reasoned debate’’?

Robert I apologise if you feel like I was singling you out. As actually you are not who I was referring too. Its blokes who respond with just an insult (like the one above you) who I was suggesting might be lacking in some areas.
I’d like to personally thank you for some of the advice you have given me previously. I remember you sending me a PM .

isnt it a coincidence that all those genuine single user posters jump on the jealousy bandwagon when trying to defend their post?
whether trucking legends, fridge engineers,ex trainers and ex mostly everything always use it as frequently as a muslim flashing his race card…

I only responded with an insult as any thing else would just be feeding your online attention deficit disorder.

Ok, fair enough…job sorted.
Cheers.
I was told on my training to always leave a good gap when queueing in traffic between you and the car/lorry in front so if anything happens you can get out and away. However I never got an answer to how that works in reality when you have more than one lane and a van next to you trying to block you in or just queueing in traffic.
I think any info on suspect cars and or gangs operating in an area should be shared as it warns others to be extra vigilant when in that area hence the notice in the o/p’s yard/office

you never did tell us all how goods could be got in to big cities like London without lorries. Now’s your big chance to explain it. Come on mr snake, let;s have it.
Oh come on, don’t tell me you missed it? About time you kept up before criticizing.
Come on then, show us.
You mean show you? I know you might be a bit slow but if you want to see my answer go and look it up. It’s there in black and white.

Coops you got the right advice to leave a good gap when in traffic but I am afraid when there might be several lanes of traffic you really need to start to use your own initiative.
Your instructor was there to help you pass your test but really does not have time to explain what to do in every other situation that may occur.

I believe your answer was something along the lines of “trust me, they will find a way”.
So yes, I too would love to hear your elaboration??

WTF are you on about? That was not what I said.
Here’s his pathetic answer, underneath my post, copied and pasred:
Well here’s one ‘guy’ that doesn’t know what you’re talking about, so let’s have it from the horses mouth. At the moment you’re just one of those that you described,
you know, “leave pathetic comments and never back them up.” So how do these goods get to the shops with no lorries on the road?

As I said at the start of the thread the whole idea is pointless because it will never happen. But any problem can be solved one way or another . It may not be as efficient or effective but there would be away round it. I suspect the military would have a big hand to play along with many others who would be willing to adapt to help matters one way or another in a pandemic as bad as this one.
And this berk reckons I must be a bit slow because I wanted him to show us how he thought it would all be sorted out.
