IN a 1999 volvo fh12 does a replacement key come with the red/ fob that you stick into the slot before starting. The slot with red light, once you push the little red fob in slot it turns green so you can now put key into ignition to start engine.
I need a replacement key.
That sounds like an aftermarket immobiliser, not a Volvo part. The Volvo immobiliser is built into the key, and the top plastic bit is a square shape. The non immobiliser key is slimmer and a rectangular shape.
If it’s the original ignition barrel then Volvo can order you a key.
The little immobiliser key is aftermarket.
Any decent auto electrician can over ride this in minutes.
Took a lot of them out years ago, if you undo the top fuse box and look for the wires underneath the fuse panel, you can bridge them and it will start every time just on the key
