where we park at home its off the road on a quiet street .Across the street theyre putting up a big block of flats its almost 2 yrs in and about 2/3rds complete .About 6 months ago one of those forklifts you see on sites backed hard into the missus car .Long and short of it insurance wouldnt cover it wrote it off so i got on and got it repaired. Yesterday i come home and see a forklift backing up prepping to do a lift darn close to the car and i go have words with the driver . What would You do if the car got hit hard again?. Its a all terrain forklift that can telescope 4 stories .Would you go park somewhere else for the next year not at home? Id be grateful for opinions

Firstly, are you saying that previously a site machine has backed into a car, and no one has paid you for it?
.
Secondly, that now machines are working on public(?) streets, in a dangerous fashion?
.
Whatever the answers, ever thought about getting a surveillance camera?
I hear they can catch road offenders!

On a topical note I had something similar when a neughtbour was having an extension built. I was irked because I was unable to park outside my house but then I also know from working that access is needed so I took the view of “it’s only temporary” and parked on another neighbours drive (with her blessing as she has no car) in a move of self preservation. It took a month of slightly more effort on my part but nothing got damaged, the extension got finished and everyone was happy.

Not park there. Getting your car bashed is unfortunate, parking your car where you know its going to get bashed…?
Bonus points as you live local, when you are walking around late at night looking for your “dog” .
Imagine how pleased the teleporter driver would be by starting his day with four flat tyres.
Is there a site entrance and do you park opposite. Is where you park part of your property or is it on road parking where ever there is a space. If I were you I would park well away from anywhere that would cause a hindrance to others. If the parking space is yours and there is no where reasonable to park near by maybe have a word with the forkie or the site manager and ask if they could let you know if they need to get where your car is so you can move it if needs be. Or alternatively ask if next time they could use a banksman.
I would ask a bunch of strangers on a Internet forum -then do whatever I thought was the best reply !

thats it exactly, strangers are the very best to ask because they are not involved no axe to grind. i dunno about you but iv learned to never ask advice on Anything from close friend or family, in fact its usually best to go and do the exact opposite to their advice
