Repay training fees after 25 years?

To cut a long story short, I’m about to apply for a job with a company who never stopped training fees from wages 25 years ago. (where did that time go?)
The conditions were, if you leave within two years you pay back (proportionally) what is outstanding.
The application form asks, have you worked here before, so is it likely they would have retained this information or even any information about previous employees for so long?
I am aware some members advise any fees incurred for training to carry out your job cannot be taken from the employee and this situation seems to corroborate that advice?

TBH I doubt they’d chase you after 25 years.
Still tell them you worked there but don’t offer any other information like you might owe them money.

Statute of Limitations prevents them chasing it up after 6 years. Because of the Statute of Limitations very few companies bother keeping extensive records longer than 6/7 years.

Quite frankly because they don’t know WTF they’re talking about. Training such as in induction can’t but certainly training like putting you through your HGV license can but it has to be done as a joint agreement between both parties.
