Toying with the idea of maybe renting a lorry in a year or so and trying bit of subby work. Can’t see any prices on line. My thoughts were renting wether I am right or wrong were if it goes wrong just hand her back,if she breaks down I am thinking they replace it(within reason obviously) no upkeep bills such as mots 6weeklys etc. what’s peoples thoughts on this?is it a good idea thus far and has any one got any ideas of rough monthly rently costs.
Have a look in Commercial Motor, from memory about £279 a week or so for a pre-loved Merc with full R&M. Maybe £400 a week for a new Volvo. Either way, unless you do short-term rental, which will be MUCH more expensive, you will have to tie yourself into a contract, two years is typical.
I take it you do have an Operator’s Licence?
Only thinking of doing it in the next 12 months or so. So no o license yet. Will talk to some of the o/d and other guys at work. Thanks for your input an taking the time to reply
