Hi all I,m in the process of renewing my license I got d2 form from post office d4 I down loaded looking at the d2 there don’t seem to be for renewing because of five year rule
S’cuse my ignorance, but what is the 5 year rule?

You need a D47P form to fill in not a D2, DVLA will send out these forms to you as and when they are required.
Just because it says after 45, doesn’t mean it has to be 45 when your medical is due, it will tell you on the licence when your HGV expires, so if say you had a medical at 44 when you applied for provisional licence, it won’t expire until your 49.

Not always!
Mine is now two weeks late and still no show, as I have an appointment booked with the optician next Monday and the quack next Tuesday, I called in my local main post office yesterday and asked about a D47P and was told they just have the new applications in stock, and gave me an envelope addressed to the DVLA with a D4 and a D2, and info 4D
Apparently they don’t use a D47P now, and I know I have used a D2 before, it is for the issue of a first licence OR renewing an existing licence.
You get the same pack if you order a D2 pack from the DVLA online.

If you have a current valid LGV licence and have not had a licence issued since Oct 2012 then change your photo now and get 5 years LGV entitlement free
What is the current LGV status on your licence 
I wouldn’t bother mate
