Yer good advice , go to opticians for eye test had a problem with my doc , filled the forms for eye test all wrong, nearly didn’t get my entitlement on my licence , fine now though .
shop around for a doctor , my own gp took me for four hours of my time , used me as a practice pin cushion , sadistic ■■■■■■■ knew i could not refuse him , he completed the form LINE BY LINE , WORD BY WORD , with lots of show me ? he had me where he wanted me and charged me £120 , second time around i went to internet doc , in and out in 10 mins and £40 
I had to give a piddle sample too in August, he had a few in before me and all their little jars where still lined up on the desk 
The eye test was covering one eye at a time and reading the chart, the smallest writing is at the bottom and if you get that you have cracked it

At some point do not be surprised if DVLA medical give you a short term 3 years for LGV and ask you to do a VF test to renew every 3 years
