Ok, so I’m looking to do my C and C+E training at some point after all (earlier post viewtopic.php?f=5&t=82879 ). Looking at licencing rules, I see they’re changing next year:

But I’m a little confused as to what happens now, in my case, as I’m 45 in June. If I get my licence before June, then on turning 45 do I need to renew? Hope not, that would seem silly, I presume I would renew at 49?
I could just wait until after June, no rush…!

If you are talking about the medical update it is every 5 years after you are 40 or every 5 years after you pass the medical
As a mate of mine passed his medical when 42 next medical & licence renewal was when he was 47

I think this will put you into the “existing drivers over 45” regardless of whether you pass or not so the new rules won’t affect you.
