Renault trucks - how to disable adaptive audio volume?

It goes waaaay up when increasing speed and then too quiet when slowing down (for a roundabout for instance)

Is there a way to disable it or adjust the magnitude of volume increase / decrease? I’ve pressed all the knobs, looked into all the equalizer/menu settings and I can’t find a way. I know some of the units have it turned off so there has to be a way. They’re all the same model/spec/year etc. carbon coppies of one another.

Is this a new fault ?
Have you recently had work done like servicing or electrical work, could be Tacho related ?
How long has this been happening ?
Try to trace it back to the first time you noticed it.
Obvious answer is the ON OFF switch !!!
However, I would try looking at the wiring, if the electrics are wired to the throttle body or even the transmission it will change the volume,

I don’t think it’s fault but rather a ‘‘feature’’ as many of them do it (2021 models) but some (a few) don’t which makes me think there has to be a way to disable it. I had the old one a couple days ago (2019) and it was the same but the difference between loud/low volume wasn’t as irritating as with the newer ones.

Is it the style with touch screen head unit or traditional radio style.? They both have the options but I will have to think for a while to remember where to find it.

There WILL be an option within the menus to sort this. It may well be difficult to find but it’ll be there.

Alternatively you could do what I do when I have difficult tech problems which is to draft in an 8 year old to sort it

It’s the old style radio, located above the driver’s head. Poverty spec + Renault = sad drivers :unamused:

To be fair for the brief time I had one with the touchscreen android console I generally hated it, (dab aside) if I switched from Bluetooth to radio and needed to turn the volume down it would take a couple of seconds to respond to your input.

Does that have an aud(io) button on the left side, possibly then having speed setting from 0-3?

Hmmm…I’m not sure but I think it does. I’ll see tonight. I assume if there is then I would have to set it to 0? Do you mean the 4 buttons which are arranged in a circle on the right side, as the one on the left side of the radio acts as an on/off and volume control

No you are right I am thinking of something else.

Ive been googling like cf defending an argument, on the dashboard menus there is a sound option, possibly in settings, but might also be in comfort.

Once you are there it should become clear!!

You’re right, that’s where it was! I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed earlier there’s an ‘‘Audio’’ option in there. Normally I only open it to connect my phone via bluetooth and never use it otherwise. I thought it must be one of the options on the equalizer or one of the multiple buttons on the lever below the gear selection lever or a combination of buttons…

If anyone wants to know, Menu->Comfort->Audio->Auto Loudness on/off

Actually just checked this tonight as this one was set on max and volume goes up and down far too much, but yes as you say it’s in the comfort settings and audio settings via the main menu button.
