Renault Premium

Hi Guys, cracking forum - a great source of info. I thought one of you guys may have sorted a similar problem - a worn driver’s seat on an 11 plate Renault Premium, it’s gone on the usual place i.e. the corner of the seat base. Renault do make a seat cover but it isn’t the best fit, any ideas ?

Scrap the whole thing & go get yourself a decent truck young man/lady, your local Scania dealer would be a good place to start…[emoji16]

I had a worn out seat, I found an upholstery workshop, left the truck over the weekend, done by Monday.

Swap it for the passenger seat, all you’ll end up losing is the arm rest.
Or get some universal truck sized covers, but none of them are a perfect fit unless made by a trimmer.

Other than what has already been said…

Have you tried fleabay? or commercial breakers?

I’m almost certain you can swap the seat bases over from the passanger to driver side and vice versa without swapping the whole seat over. A 2 minute job if I remember right.

Is that possible if it has heating in it?

I would assume its possible but you’ll just have to make do without a heated seat. The only time I’ve used the heated seats is when I’ve knocked the switch by accident and wondered why my arse was getting so hot. Never ever felt the need to use them, so it personally wouldn’t bother me not having it.

you can swap the seat base from passengers side you will loose the heat tho but its a easy swap then just cover the passengers seat with a cover

Good idea damoq I’ll investigate and see if you are right on the 2 minutes. One of our other drivers bought a Renault seat cover but it isn’t the best fit. Sadly we are stuck with the Renaults but on the bright side at least they aren’t DAFs…

I wouldn’t be sad if I was given a Renault to drive. I drive an actros now but could honestly say if I had a choice between it and the Renault, it would be the Renault every time.

I know where you can get fully fitted seat covers for a Renault… I’ll PM you details tomorrow…

Going off on a slight tangent - my company currently has a couple of Renault premium’s on hire.

I had the misfortune to be allocated one last week on my normal run oop North. Umm, The first thing that struck me was the lack of leg-room, then the obscene amount of control stalks emanating from the steering column - looked like a bloody Dalek - and the most infuriating thing was having to turn yourself into a contortionist just to get into the bunk. All-in-all, and imho, the Reault Premium is ■■■■■■
