Just drove a Renault Premium for first time in winter weather for the past couple of days, and found the side windows and mirrors get mucky very quickly. Can’t say I have noticed it on Mans or Dafs, does anybody else have the same problem with them?
I noticed that with mine but its not as bad as a Scania.
My Premium of 3 years has just gone back to the hire company and I’ve been driving a MAN TGX this past week till my new truck arrives tomorrow hopefully. I have experienced the opposite from you. I found the MANs windows got dirty quite quickly and were a lot harder to clean due to me being unable to climb up and wipe the window because of the steps being covered by the long doors.
Are the front caps still on the corners between the bonnet and door pillar and are they damaged? They are designed to deflect the air flow to stop the dirt rising up on to the windows.
Had no bother with that on a Premium. They can be a bit draughty tho. Stralis was the worst for mirrors I found, try the old bit of rag trick tied to mirror arm.
You will need to post instructions and pictures for some truck drivers to understand how to do that.
oops! double post
Its got the deflectors on but it was my first time out since Christmas so maybe it is just the sheer amount of crap on the road surface from the recent gritter activity that I am not used to. Even after stopping to clean the muck off it was back filthy again a few miles later. I remember the rags on mirrors, might have to try that!
We’ve had 2 new premium rigid and also find side Windows get filthy with streaks coming from top corner of mirror on both sides. Our older premiums don’t do this, design fault?
