Renault premium headlight leveller not working

My company has a fleet of Renault premiums and among the common problems is that the headlamp levellers stop working usually at the lowest setting so that you can only see about 15 feet in front, (seems that way anyhow), anyone know if there is a common or easy fix.

we had that problem on a batch of new transits 61 plates
turned out to be the tracker and where they had taken a feed/earth from ,was burning out the motors

Mine are faulty too. You can here the motors moving about in the headlights even with the ignition and lights off. Don’t know what causes it tough. Probably just a typical French wiring fault.

Dump the air on the drive axle :bulb:

Thats the problem right there my friend.

well, you can drop the lift axle but if there’s not alot of weight on you lose traction and you only gain a small adjustment, dumping the drive axle air not an option as soon as you get to cetain speed the ride height is automatically returned.

Think that may have been “humour” and not a serious suggestion… was it :unamused:

Yes. White knobs.

[ from a white knob…haha]

Thread revival but does anyone know which fuse for leveller? Suffering same problem as above.

As an update to my original posting, the whole fleet now has no headlamp levellers working, none of them, a quiet word with a fitter an employee of Ryders the suppliers, said that the headlamp units were so expensive to repair that it was uneconomical to do, so the result is I believe Ryders are in the process of replacing all our Renault units with DAF’s although I havn’t seen that happening yet I am told it will happen soon.

If you swing the headlamp unit out, you will notice that the wire that feeds the adjuster motor is routed in such a way that it chaffs on one of the bolts that holds the bumper on. It eventually rubs through, shorts out and blows the fuse.

Our Renault fleet is also from Ryder and is being replaced by DAF CFs. Half of the CFs are on the road now and the rest by next Saturday. Although my Renault is staying for another year. I will gladly suffer the knackered lights if it means not getting one of those poxy CFs.

£400 for a new head light. Cheers.

Damoq we seem to follow B.E’s example all the time so it’s cf’s and not xf’s bugger, slumming it every time as you know.

Your gaffers are probably just little lemmings like mine and will just accept whatever junk Ryder decided to throw at them. Its DAF CFs cos that’s all Ryder seem to buy now. Even our trampers are slumming it in CFs cos our mob wouldn’t pay an extra £40 a week for XFs. At least Hill Hire would get you what you asked for.

One of our new CFs broke down in the middle of the yard 10mins after it was delivered. Brakes wouldn’t come off due to a burst air pipe and another one lasted 3 days before it had to go back due to an ad blue fault. They’re not getting of to a good start so far.

Update on which fuse, its f13 which is also wipe wash so if their working its wiring damage as stated above.

In my experience of Renault’s, if that’s all that’s wrong with it, you’re laughing your winky off…

They aren’t great at electrics Renault…
