Renault Magnums and elf "n" safety

Has any driver fallen out of the things in the middle of the night, while they forgot which type of cab they were in,easily done and quite a height to fall.
Why no course on safety issues, like wearing a hard hat and high viz in bed in case you tumble on the live carriegeway. It could be on the DCPC and count as 7 hours training, with the coffee break time will fly.
No safety harness and awareness of heights certificate to be issued until the driver has passed the ladder test, and vertigo assesement.

Have you run out of things to say?

Anyone with experience of a Magnum will tell you that it is almost impossible to fall out, the door is designed not to open enough, the theory behind is that you open the door and the shallow angle it opens to forces you onto the ledge under the door, by that time you have a firm hold of the dirty great big grab handles :open_mouth:

However I’m sure that ther are people who have managed to fall out of one, so as there is a possibility to it, this question doesn’t fulfil the criteria (complete tripe  ) of your usual postings Toby, has the nurse upped your meds again

Yep quite spectacularly and still have the scar

I never did it in a Magnum, but I tried the old hand on the wheelarch and jump down trick in a Transcon, it was quite a spectacular fail, missed the wheelarch with my hand and ended up in a crumpled heap. Luckily I had a bit more bounce in me when I was younger

I find the magnum safer than any other cab to get into if I’m honest

A laugh is when doc security want in for a nose around.
Seeing their legs wave about trying to Find the steps on way out cracks me up.

It’s worse when the other way around, when you’ve been in a magnum for a couple of days and then try to get out of a ‘normal’ truck!
