Just came back from Carlisle and coming off the M5 to go up air balloon hill there was a bloke standing next to a fair houses contents chucked onto the side of road, mattresses the lot, this was at 7pm, would need half an artic curtainsider to move it all, god knows what happened, must of upset the removal blokes.
Bank holiday giant car boot sale.

If packed correctly ,would get it on a Luton transit.
Is it Air Balloon or Crickley hill though
Would guess the original van broke down or something and he didn’t want to go where the van was being recovered to. Recovery may have refused to shift it if it was some luton van stuffed so full the rear springs have inverted job.
Although seems to be taking a hell of a risk with the weather, thinking about it.
A lot to be said for buying respectable but not that expensive Ikea type furniture. If you do move you could yak it all and buy new for less than some removal companies would charge - not that I would ever get a removal firm in myself- still a lot to recommend it.
Can’t stop the missus hoarding crap though. She (allegedly) couldn’t bear to part with it when we last moved yet it was mostly all yakked and new stuff acquired about a minute after we had been in the new place.

I always thought it was birdlip hill and the roundabout was called the air ballon roundabout due to the boozer but I’m sure someone with local knolage will put us both right

Yes, that’s my understanding but I think everyone knows the rough location meant.
A lot of removal vans have side doors, maybe one flipped open and spilled the contents?
I was once hired to do a removal to Murcia in one of my Sprinters and on the strength of it arranged a backload from Cartagena that paid enough to actually run down there empty, I told the guy who I was moving that it had to be either a cheque at least two weeks prior or cash up front. I got lots of promises from him and lots of excuses too. Anyway I stopped at Dover to check my bank and sure enough nothing had gone in from him.
First services south of Calais is where I unloaded all his worldly possessions!
The stretch from Gloucester up the hill is Crickly hill, up to the Airballon roundabout.
The stretch from the roundabout towards Cirencester is Birdlip.
However, generally the locals refer to the whole are as Birdlip.
The actual Birdlip hill road is a small, steep winding road that isn’t really much suitable for trucks anymore, although it used to be the only way for everyone before the bypass was built. It comes out in Birdlip village, and leads onto the small junction at the top of the crest on the bypass section.
