Are we going to see drivers being able to work from home remotely? No more commuting to work.
These new Einride freight pods can be driven remotely from anywhere in the world without leaving your house. No more long hours away from home. Will it become a 9-5 type job where they can employ a driver from anywhere in the world to drive the freight pod after your 8 hour shift is over & parked it up to charge or swap batteries ready for the next driver to log in & drive it to it’s next destination.
You could have drivers employed from any of the time zones around the world without having to get up at an unearthly hour in your particular time zone & the job turned into a 8 hour/day desk job

Good luck with paying the domestic energy bills and council tax and rent or mortgage when competing for the job with a student Indian tech nerd doing the job for pocket money.
Living like a prisoner under effective house arrest in the agenda 30 utopia.
Be careful what you wish for.
And what does the “remote pod operator” do when the doorbell rings, or she needs to go to the bog? Does she park it up, or leave it to it’s own devices, unsupervised? I hope I’m long gone before this stuff comes to a road near me.
Got to agree it doesn’t paint a rosy picture of a possible glimpse into the future, Would they even need to pass a HGV test or even need a licence
Anyone with a gamers background apply within.

It’ll be be just like a fast food moped delivery job without the need for a moped just good at using a computer to operate a drone.Id guess the food delivery job would pay more.Where will the tax and pension revenues come from in this new utopia.
I just wish I was in my 80s not 60s.
Like self driving wagons, it aint going to happen in Britain.
Half the electronic crap already fitted is unreliable, when your phone does an update half the original settings get lost.
Quite apart from that, this being the good old British Isles, the chumps in charge of this country couldn’t run the proverbial ■■■■ up in yon brewery, could you even begin to imagine the £billions they’d ■■■■ up the wall on this and it still wouldn’t work just like everything else they touch.

Let’s close our coal industry and flog off our other oil and gas resources and let’s march NATO forces up to Russia’s borders.
Whoops Apocalypse.
