Just a quick question, how do you all remember the stuff for your theory test ? I’ve got the book but really struggle remembering the facts. I can get to the end of the page and forgot what I’ve read at start of page.
I’ve signed up to drivingtheory4all but really need to get into a routine of doing a bit every day
Most of it is common sense, as it’s multiple choice it’s really not that difficult to figure out the correct answer.
Yes you do have to remember answers to specific questions for some of them but I wouldn’t get into a panic over it.
Everyone retains information differently and it’s just down to finding a way that works for you.
I’m lucky in that I can retain and recall information fairly easily. I was never one for revising for hours on end at school, a bit here and there suited me.
Thanks guys I found that. A question might be 3 recommendations for parking on a night, another question might be 3 things not to park on a night. Same for accidents.
I struggle with things like minimum tyre depth, and fines for bringing an illegal into the country. Guess its just practice.
I consider myself to be a good car driver, spotting hazards etc. I did hazard perception for my car test. When i came to practice again for HGV i failed misserably despite clicking several times. Think I need to practice that too. The videos are not HD and its blurry to spot the hazard

Hi Karl
The feedback I’ve had from my trainees that have used the drivingtheory4all site is “BRILLIANT”
I’m sure you will be a natural wagon driver just like your dad
Try coloured marker pens to highlight the important bits.
Writing down information and take it with you to glance at.
Erase all the details that are not needed. The waffle.
A little technique i used when doing my o levels revising was to eg for english literature was to get a pad of post it notes and much to mams despair she spent a few weeks with quotes posted around the biccie cupboard , fridge , mirrors , wardrobes etc ,
as you open a particular place you read the quote on the note , believe me goes in , I can still quote from my o level lit books lol
I invested a few pounds in a mobile smartphone HGV theory test app that has most of the official test questions programmed in. It even had some hazard perception videos too.
In the weeks preceding my theory test I ran mock after mock after mock, 100 questions at a time, and after a while the knowledge settled in. I could flag the dodgy questions and the ones I got wrong as I went so I could focus on them later.
I can do theory questions all day long. Hazard perception still bugs the life out of me. Pretty much anything that moves is a potential hazard, so when do you click?

There are many pieces of advice out there on that question…I’m not sure there is a definitive ‘right’ answer, though, as the official algorithms of the real test clips are secret.
Remember that the online samples, if that’s what you’re practicing on, tend to be really low resolution and are often small, so will be much harder than the live test. Don’t be too disheartened if you find it difficult, you’re being expected to spot a hazard when it is no more than a clump of pixels. The full size monitors and clips at the test centre are far more playable.
For me, I clicked once each time I saw something suspicious. If it began developing then I clicked again after a second or so, then a third time another second or so later to be sure.
I scored 84 on the day. I dropped eight points on the double hazard clip (only 2 out of 10), which I suspect was sheep…twice. I have no idea why I seem to not be able to see a sheep until I’m nearly on top of it…so to speak…

just searched the app store after reading this - sounds like the perfect way for me!
as others have said, revision/learning is different for everyone - just need to find a way that suits - the more suggestions you hear the more likely you are to find one that works for you.
