Reading the newspaper report and the prosecution dragging up his previous i thought this was not allowed and the jury did not find out until after sentencing as it could sway a jury’s final verdict? When I did jury service we only found out about the lads past after we found him guilty of mugging a kid and beating him up for his phone and then finding out he had previous convictions for similar.
When Limey used to post on here, he would say it how it is, direct, straight to the point, much to the annoyance to many .

Ain’t it got links to the Brinks Mart job? I’m sure I’ve read that some of the money that was laundered from that job was used to buy pills to sell in the clubs around Essex, the exact same pills that killed Leah Betts.

Pat Tate was Kenny Noyes friend and personal trainer in Swaleside. Noye was one of the Brinks Matt robbers, and there’s a rumour that Brinks money was ■■■■■■■ in the drugs that killed Leah Betts. I don’t believe the rumours that Noye had them killed. He was too shrewd for that. The only reason he ever went to prison was that moment of red mist at swanley. I don’t think the police could ever connect the money, so I’m pretty sure he’d have been locked up if there was anything provable.

18 years up me bum,il be out in 6 or 8 if i keep my nose clean…so long as i keep my mouth shut myself and my family wont get sliced up,just keep my head down and get on with it,if i go to sleep with my bum wedged into the corner,and tie my belt tight round my chin,then i should be allright,oh no,wait a minute!!! ,holy crap,i hope im not baned from trucknet if i try to post on there again!!! im sure he is losing a lot of sleep worrying about being banned from trucknet…once you would do 1 wee job for these people,then the option of refusing the next one isnt an option at all.i wouldnt think they would blow 30kgs of coke as a decoy,when 1 or 3 would do the same job.

Which report? The one in the Yorkshire Post didn’t state at what point his previous arrest was mentioned. He was convicted on the Thursday and presumably sentenced on the Friday, which is the day on which the YP report was published. His previous arrest etc would have been disclosed at that point (i.e. just before sentencing).
As you observe, the general principle is that previous arrests and/or convictions cannot be disclosed before the jury returns its verdict.

Iirc about 20 years or so ago Mathews Int Great Yarmouth, yes the ones that leave dead truckers abroad, had a truck seized at Dover with a shed load Cannabis in it, driver arrested a prosecuted, only then did Mathews get the opportunity to collect said truck, on the back of a low loader Customs did a very thorough job
