Reliant Robin Racing

Is there anyone who lives in Kent or the South-east who would be interested in getting a team together to have a go at this next year?

I reckon if we could get three or four of us interested then we could be up and running for a couple of hundred quid each in a whip round.

Whaddya reckon?

Is that done at dover banger track still ?

Looks brilliant to watch. I had a mate years ago who had a bond bug. I couldn’t believe how quick it was or how well it handled.

I watched the 2CVs at Pembrey a couple of times when the truck racing was on. They were fun too!

Yes, I posted some more pics on your thread in the PDF.

There weren’t that many trucks there today, perhaps a couple of dozen, but there were plenty of races and it was worth the money.

My clothes still smell of Castrol R

If you want to go for it, I’ll sort out some sort of sponsorship from my company - won’t be mega amounts, but I’m sure we can sort out something!

I’ll have a bit of a think about this, but I wouldn’t mind giving it a go.

As you might remember from the banger racing thread, I’ve had a couple of goes at that, the biggest problem with banger racing though is that you are lucky if you can get a couple of meetings out of each car, the time it consumes is phenomenal. The Reliants are (theoretically) non-contact so once there was a car prepared it might well last a season.

Here’s a bit of YouTube.

Here’s an article in the Telegraph about it.

Engine and suspension swaps are forbidden so it won’t be expensive to be reasonably competitive.

Perhaps we can have a think about this. I don’t mind getting stuck in and helping to get the car ready, and chipping in towards it, we could form a TruckNet team maybe?

First question, does anyone have somewhere to keep a car? Second question, is anyone any good at welding?

Can you still get them  they must be a bit thin on the ground now.

Id love to do it, but

A) i live tooo far away
B) already got 2 race cars
c) i live too far away
