It’s been awhile since I’ve been that way but may have some trips to Marseille next month so …
… at Reims, can you still turn off near the Centre Routier and go via St Dizier & Chaumont towards Dijon or have they put a weight limit on that road now?
Any other suggestions for a route to Provence (not all Peage but not all National) would be appreciated
yes you can still go that way, some of its new , but still start and finish the same, a few speed cameras along there. theres a new relais just past chaumont, about six k’s before the peage, very good, as for route down to marseille, stick to the autoroute, not worth the agro, ok if you want to eat , but not if your in a hurry. dont park in marseille, park at the old accotel, cant think of the name at the moment, about fifty k’s north

Thanks Karl, I even think I know the Alcotel you mean. Wont be in a hurry & get bored on the Peage so I’ll take the St Diz route
vitrolles, yeah thats the one. parked in marseille once, watched loads of people jumping over the dock fence unchalenged, we left the bat in the window to show we were prepared, didnt leave the truck that night unattended, would not advise parking there
The only way to lose time on going the St Diz route is if you catch up a convoi exceptionnell. I always use this route and have proved to a few lads that it can even be quicker if you are lightweight and get a clear run and I’m also led to believe that its about £30 cheaper. If I was an O/D then I would defo take this route.
