Not my wages they wouldn’t mate. I invoice them as I’m self employed and I’d expect to be paid regardless…If they didn’t pay the invoice, then they would receive a letter from the small claims court very quickly…
I’ve been ripped off before with [zb] like this from companies like this…not again
When I was self employed they wouldn’t have done with me either as my terms of business that they sign states I was not liable for any damages or losses that I or my representatives (employees - yes I did have some from time to time) did.
stevieboy308:
so is, drivers fault and driver negligence the same thing?

Yes. No such thing as an accident 99% of the time, especially if there’s nobody else involved. Someone somewhere has cocked up. Occassionally its understandable - say its a really bad tight place to reverse and you’re doing it in the pitch dark or nobody will come out to watch you back or they did but forgot to tell you you were about to hit something. Then there’s where its not understandable - you hit something behind you because you couldn’t be bothered to get out and look first or you plough the headboard into something as you’re turning because you couldn’t be bothered to check the nearside mirror…

The light cluster at Vauxhall I mentioned was caused by a FLT driver who came up behind me after I had already checked I was clear and he was in a blind spot, my fault? his fault? accident? negligence? my boss put it down to bad luck, Reed Boardall■■?

greggy:
well how is your first day on the job. after all its the 27th feb today.
It was the usual induction type day, which also counted for 7 hours of the DCPC
Also got to meet a member of here who was also starting today
Sounds ok.
I’d be ok with the bonus thing too, I’ve said it before, give a bonus that you can take off the driver if he has a bump and that’s fine as it’s a bonus, I’ll have worked out if I can afford to work there based on wages, not bonus’.
BUT, threaten to touch my wages and there’ll be trouble, I go to work to earn money, and I’ll drive the best I can and do my best to avoid any accident - fault or none-fault - but if I have one, well, tough really, sorry about that, I’ll fill in the forms, and I’ll apologise, even sort things out if poss - light unit, lens cover or whatever - but I’ll not be paying for it.
Wages = pay for number of hours worked
Bones = optional extra off bosses for not ■■■■■■■ up, whether that be accidents, sick days, incorrect deliveries or not dropping below a certain mpg
So, if you were getting say £50 per week bonus, and you ■■■■■■ up and they said “£300”, so you lost bonus for 6 weeks, that’d be fine with me, but if they tried to take that £300 out of my wages…
