Reed Boardall driver today

Is the Reed Boardall driver on here that I tried to help this morning at Severn Beach? I forgot to ask if you were on TN.

I walked around back of trailer and he was stood next to his unit, he had tried to pick up his trailer at 4am and buried his front wheel in a man hole where the cover had collapsed poor sod.
I tried for half an hour to no avail to pull him out with a strap which snapped 3 times, if I had a chain we could have sorted it.
Just wondered if, how, and when he got away.

Incidentally he commented on how it was a change nowadays that someone was willing to help a fellow trucker, as it was it just came naturally without a second thought, I would not have thought of just ■■■■ ing off and leaving him. Is it really that rare? :open_mouth:

If you are on here mate, don’t mention who I work for, especially for how much I’ve slagged them on here in the past

Was always brought up to help someone out. Seems wrong to walk away from someone who’s in need of a hand.

I’m disgusted that you didn’t have a chain!
And you call yourself a pro… :unamused:

Well done that man, must admit i wouldn’t have dared do the same, the all seeing eye on the dash would have clocked something going on, aided and abetted by the tracker which can tell a hell of a lot what’s going on, dunno if it can feel or smell my ■■■■■ but sometimes wonder it can.

I discharged in Sth Wales thismorning and came back along the M4…did anyone see or worse still were stuck in the queue for the M5, near enough back to Leigh Delamere… :open_mouth: what the hell are the better weather bank holidays going to be like this year.

Well done Rob. If I can I stop to help other drivers, whether cars or trucks. Always nice to do a good deed.

I came out of Bristol up m32 at 12.30 today. As you said traffic near enough back to Leigh Delamere Services heading west. Good job i was heading East. When i headed into Bristol at 06.00 there was no traffic!

Fair play on helping out.

Yep easy run down to Cardiff this morning, got there at 830, went down M50, came back over the bridge and hundreds of vehicles in all lanes waiting for the toll booths…Eastbound journey home late morning was a breeze. :sunglasses:

Nice one rob, I do a couple of days a week casual at reeds,I’ll definitely ask about for you and find out how he got one.

I advised a know all expert a few years back at Smiths to spread some ballast across his tipper floor to help some wet soil slide out. Told me he didn’t need to be told how to do his job…So when my load tipped out nice and clean and he had about 2t stuck in the back I left him on his own in the ■■■■■■■ rain.

Ok bud. Cheers for that. I was just curious how he had got on eventually.
He seemed a nice bloke and I wish I could have helped him more.

Btw all,… that was the only reason for the post, not to get any praise, as I just done it naturally as I have always done, but cheers to those that have recognised it on here anyway.

I had a know it all loading wet gravel with me one day. I’m parking at stainmore (that’s a up on a big hill for your benefit Nathan). I said I’d stop at penrith.
No im bashing on.
But it’s to get cold tonight.
I’ll be fine. Got a ■■■■■■■ night heater.
Oh ok then.

Next morning tipping at Hull. My load slid out. His was frozen to the floor. He had to wait about 3 hours for it to thaw. I didn’t bother hanging around to help.

Nice one Rob, shame you couldn’t get him out

I know what you mean Happysack. Frozen gravel or ballast is like chipping pebble dash off a wall.
