Reduced Weekly Rest Question

I would just like to clarify a problem I’m having.

My normal shift is Sunday to Thursday night.

I can then work Friday night on another run for the same firm.

Having looked into the weekly rest situation I’m a bit confused!

What I would like to do it work for two weeks doing the extra Friday shift (which means me taking a reduced weekly rest period).

Then on the third week I would have a full weekly rest plus the extra hours from the two previous weeks.

My reduced weekly rest would be 36 hours for both times, meaning I owe 9 hours x’s 2 (18 hours in total).

When I have my normal weekly rest it is for 66 hours, so I would have my full 45 hour break plus the 18 hours, giving a total of 63 hours.

Is this legal?

Or would I be better just working the Friday shift every other week?

Thanks in advance.

Russ

ILLEGAL

You must have a FULL weekly rest at least every other week

YUP    and you would be paying back the 9 hours along with every full weekly rest - no worries
