reduced daily rest

so can all drivers use the option to take the 9 hour daily rest? (max 3 times per week)

or do the like of tanker drivers who load and unload the truck have to take 11 hours a night?

thanks

Any driver working to EU regulations can have a reduced daily rest period, well unless there’s a company rule against it obviously.

Being a bit pedantic maybe but it’s 3 times between weekly rest periods not per week

No it can be between any two weekly rest periods, regular or reduced.

For instance you could start work Monday after a weekly rest period and have reduced daily rest periods on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, if you then had a reduced weekly rest period on Thursday, you could have another 3 reduced daily rest periods on Friday Saturday and Sunday.

That would give you six reduced daily rest periods in a fixed week, see why we tend to be a bit pedantic about the wording

lol you could be tacho.
so your answer puts my mate wrong. i hate when lads tell you something that you know is wrong but then start to second guess yourself

It’s funny the way it’s stated in the guidelines as daily rest CAN be reduced to 9hrs up to 3 times between weekly rests but some companies see it as normal for a driver to reduce the daily rest 3 times a week and work 15hrs Inbetween them.
Same as the driving hours, they plan runs to max them out instead of leaving a couple of hours for unforeseen circumstances such as delays and then it’s the driver that gets fined when they find themselves going over the hours.
