Reduced daily rest in a row

Hi everyone

Can I take two reduced daily rests of 9hr each in a row ? Thanks

Yes.

Assuming EU rules and nothing else is happening, then no problems as such. Drivers' hours: Overview - GOV.UK
Nothing there about not having two reduced rests in a row.

You can have three in a row if you want.

I’m not saying you should just that you can

If you can get the 3 hour continuous breaks in during the shift you can do it 5 times ( and along comes RR ).
It’s a handy rule on container work especially so you max your working day ( and keep your employer happy )

On my last job on fridges you could almost guarantee a split break at least every other day. The planners knew this and so planned everyone for 5x 15 hour shifts!

Some cabbages actually did it as well

If you want the money you’ve got to work for it

Win win I’m paid by the hour

Quite true. Also true is the simple fact that nobody ever ever laid on their deathbed and uttered the words “I wish I’d got a few more hours in”.

Yes, but they might have wished for a split shift :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

In the “Good Old Days”, I used to have 3 x reduced, Friday, Sat & Sunday then another 3, Mon, Tues, Wednesday )

I know ypu can do 4 by 10hr drives on the bounce, as they are limited to two per fixed week .
But reduced daily rest are limited to 3 per week when a week is the period bewtween two weekly rests.

I know someone who thought they were a hero by doing exactly that. 3 x 15 24 hours off then another 3x15 then regular weekly rinse and repeat
