Last time I stayed in that area I stopped at the small truckstop in Northampton. Its in the red light area but is within walking distance of the town so is OK for pubs and food. Not likely to get slashed as the guy makes you park so close together making it really difficult to start messing with the side of your trailer.
I think its called ‘The Super Sausage’ ■■?

Well if it is in the Red light district, it would be called that wouldn;t it
I parked there once and never again. Granted it is cheap enough and the food is ok. I just got hacked off with the constant knocks on the door all night waking me up!

You park over the road in the industrial estate. I used to stop there regular when I used to tramp - just park up on the forecourt of ones of the units there (ignore the clamping signs) and as long as you’re away in the morning before they open you’re alright. As for the ladies, piece of ■■■■ : just collar one of them and tell her to tell her mates that you don’t want any business and you won’t get any knocks. Parked up there overnight for years and never once had any bother, although if you are someone that uses those ‘services’ watch out because one of them will go through cab drawers and kecks pockets to nick your wallet whilst sucking you off.
I don’t know if the pub is still there at the top end of the ind est, but if it’s the same landlord and you get chatting with him he’ll let you stay when they have a lock in.
I won’t jump on the self righteous band waggon on dd, but i’m interested to know how you found out the brasses would loot you while they change your oil

Not me - a guy I used to work with also parked up there and I was there on the evening that he decided to have his “oil changed” before we headed off to 'Spoons. I was just finishing off my paperwork for the day when I sees him legging it up the road with his shoe laces undone and his kecks hanging off his arse . When he came back, he told me the story and I’m not kidding you, I was creased up for a full 5 minutes with tears of laughter rolling down my dial. It was even more amusing listening to him on the phone to his wife explaining how he’d lost his wallet. He has the last laugh though as it was muggins that had to buy all the booze and food, but it was worth it just to hear the tale.
I started doing nights out in approx 1987ish, and have never parked there, when it is mentoined it is allways with the words curtain slashed just after. Never will stop there either.
I,ve parked there, loads of times, never had any problems, never had any prozzies, never seen any really, but at least give the guy a chance. I dont believe i have ever seen a reply from an owner of a truckstop defending his honour. Its not his fault that some thieving scumbag wandered onto the site and helped himself, but he is trying to rectify the situation. Greg said he paid £8, wtf does he expect for that money, go onto a services and it will cost £20 upwards, still no fence, still no cameras, and still buy your own food.
I think this guy is trying to modernise his truckstop to our advantage, and after hearing drivers moan time after time about the lack of facilities, he needs our support, not desertion.
I think the cafe is quite aptly named the “Super Sausage” if you get evening brasses on the knock. This one is on St Andrews Road not on the A5 & not the Red Lion.
