Anyone know why we have had to swap the ends over for a European trailer ,it’s not something I’ve come across before .

does it have normal couplings or did they have Palm coupling adapters on like the picture in which case the palms were on the wrong way round or if it was just palm connections adaptors would have been better … you just slip them on to use the trailer then take em off when finished

Just normal Nick ,he picked up the trailer which is new cable drum trailer made in Europe it has normal none spring brake chambers ,not far up the road the brakes came on ,I told him to disconnect both suzies ,drain the trailer tank to get the brakes off so he could get it to a lay bye ,after a bit of enquiring it turns out we are to swap the ends over ,he’s done this and all works fine ,there’s no problem with the lorry as it changes trailers regularly .

Always a laugh when you turn up for first time ferry traction to discover that those crazy europeans have different end bits, then also a good laugh trying to wind the legs up without a winding handle, also a good laugh not having any rear lenses or bulbs on the trailer, got through a few back handers that morning I tell thee.

Everything had palms on when I started :open_mouth:
as for the op it could be a trailer the other company (owners) don’t normally send outside their own company and to prevent anyone making off have the couplings changed to prevent theft so all their own drivers carry adapters ,a simple but effective safe guard …

I have female c-couplings on the susie frame so i can swap airlines when pulling “palm coupling” trailers. I have a c-coupling set and a palm coupling set plus a set of convertors. Get’s you out of the ■■■■ if you split an airline, too!

Dan sometimes the palms don’t make a good conection even tho they don’t leak, if you get this again just pop the red line on to the yellow line conector for a few mins tops, to charge the brake system back up it happens more often than not with self sealing couplings “palm” for some strange reason?? hope that may help ya,
no need to drain tanks etc, if you do the above

He said they weren’t palm couplings ,it’s coming back on Thursday so I’ll get a picture if I see it ,and have a look round it .

Yes do, you’ve got us all interested now.
