Red Airline Breakage

Bking:
“Find the tank that feeds the spring brakes”
Do you have any idea what the hell your on about?

Lets try a question then?

So you got a burst airbag bleeding air,and then you got you in your fancy wrecker what do you do to get the outfit home? And I dont mean a 500 quid drag back.
Or better still mr recovery man you got no compressed air(the compressors goosed) no way to pick up the truck Your in a transit so what bit of kit should you have with you to get the brakes off just to get the thing out the first lane of the motorway? and how?

This should be simple for an “expert”

As a simple repair to get a vehicle moving with a burst air bag I would blank the pipe off to that bag, depending where on the vehicle the bag was, I would assess the situation when the vehicle was in a safe place, it could require recovery if say it was a rear bag allowing the suspension to sink to a level where it was unsafe to travel, the cost of recovery would depend on the distance & time taken to complete the job, if an owner operator or large firm has not factored into their costings an amount to cover breakdown recovery fees then they have a lot to learn about transport.

As for your scenario of the compressor not building air up thus leaving the vehicle stranded in lane one of the motorway, just think about your statement, a compressor not building air up should not leave a vehicle stranded in such a place, as an observant driver would have adequate warning to get the vehicle to a safe place, after all it is a legal requirement for a vehicle to be fitted with air pressure gauges, then an adequate repair could be carried out, or again send for the recovery lorry.

I hope this helps you with the steep learning curve you seem to be on with regard to all things mechanical.

So you never heard of a blow off pipe?
Like connect it to the rear tyre and blow the brakes off?

Another “professional”
