Ok, i said i’d never do it. But i’ve caved in and decided to do the Driver cpc.
I’ve booked myself a 5 day course with recoverytech. £149 with digs.
Has anyone done a course with these? I’ve done a search and found quite a few posts about them, But not off anyone that has actually been there.
If i was just doing UK work, I’d have taken a chance at getting nicked and arguing the case in court. But i’m in Europe 90% of the time, So that option is out.
Let’s hope i get my card through before the deadline.
don’t understand the leaving it to the last minute mentality, you’ve known about this for months and only now decide to do it.
good luck…
don’t worry slimey. you don’t need dcpc to deliver meals on wheels

worked away for a long time. went to prison. been away for 2 months with only the odd night at home. i’ll now be away for 3 weeks, Then i’ll be having a week off to do it.
I didn’t expect so many drivers to cave in to it so quickly. If they didn’t, Then the Government may have extended the deadline.
There are no training providers anywhere round here.

Thanks, I’ll remember that.
I have not done my DCPC with them but i have done some vehicle recovery courses with them.Dave Garve that runs them nows what he is doing.
Looked at doing there courses too but if you look on jaupt site, they only do 5 which are aimed at recovery drivers, now i’m none to happy about having to spend 5 days sucking eggs but they might as well be eggs that are relevant to the work im doing so decided to pass even though they are cheep, you will get what you pay for, like sharing a room with 2 others enjoy

Thanks for that.
There’s a pub over the road. i was sold.
If i end up sharing a room, i’ll probably just go to a hotel.
I’ve just been on google maps and found about 5 pubs and a kebab house.
This Driver cpc could be alright.

I’ve heard from a very reliable source that the DVSA are commencing operation ‘DQC (cashgrab)’ on September 10th, lanes have already been approved for coning off for speedy DQC checks, bit like the worst drive through ever…even companies on a green won’t escape as they will be pulling trucks in from 00.01 hours.
Bit of a MMTM so not that reliable really, although my mate does work for the old DSA (now DVSA) but he talks crap a lot
Apparently this will be ongoing till it no longer becomes profitable.

When I had my “new operator” visit from VOSA, as they were then, the DCPC was one of the items on their check list, and that must have been getting on for a year ago now.

It’s not really a case of “caving in” Phil, the simple fact is that the DQC to become a legal requirement if you wish to continue driving trucks for a living. Any large company simply abides by any new law as a matter of course and has therefore put its drivers through it. There would be no point in me taking a stance by not taking it because come September I would simply get parked up the first time I was control-checked until I had obtained it.
Yes, it is a total waste of time I agree, but it is simply what has to be done.
It’s no suprise that some DCPC trainers are speading this twadle, they also claim that last september vostapo did the same for the bus & coach drivers is there any truth in that ?

Thats what I thought, but the hassle to stop buses isn’t worth it and the number of coaches on the road compared to HGV’s is quite small so logically I have to give some merit to this tale… time will tell but I will have my DQC card stuck to my arse so I have no worries. Although I’m relishing the moment i get asked to see my DQC card and I proceed to drop me kecks…
