Recovery van driver killed in M4 crash

The driver of a breakdown recovery van has been killed in a three-vehicle crash on the M4 near Bridgend.

The collision, which also involved a Fiat camper van and a tanker, happened between Junction 35 (Pencoed) and 36 (Sarn) at about 1925 BST on Monday.

The man who died was aged 38. The tanker driver was taken to hospital in Bridgend. The camper van driver and passenger were not injured.

The motorway was closed for five hours after the crash on westbound lanes.

South Wales Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the roads policing unit on 101 or the charity Crimstoppers on 0800 555 111.
