Any law you know as a driver, do the opposite and your pretty much there

I think they have a get out clause something to do with “clearing the highway” which basically means forget breaks etc etc keep working.

Think you have to have a ticket to work on the motorway as well not sure what it is called though

very dangerous job

good luck with the job mate and stick to the rules.

Don’t forget that you need to use your amber beacons at all times.

I’ve never understood why you need then flashing on a 7.5t tilt bed with a car on the back but they all do it so it must be the law.

Cheers
Neilf

Draw a circle of 60 miles around the depot on a map, stay within that & you are tacho exempt.

Pointless really 'cos IME 99.9% of recovery operators are as bent as a butchers hook.

They’re coming up to their busy period, expect to be worked untill you drop.

Again, sometimes you just forget, or turn your reversing alarm off etc. Jeez, it must be awesome to be as perfect as you Neilf.

Awesome

Some you win, some, well! you lost.

Errrrrrr Neil I think you might wanna look at the f at the end of Neil in Waynes post :open_mouth:

I give it up as a bad job!! You will end up doing 19-21 hours then 2-4 hours off and called out to another job. They will tell you to drop off a car just inside of the 100km mark, when you get there you will be told there is noone to meed you and put taco card in and keep driving on!!! when you on the way back you will get back into the 100km area and told to take the car dout and keep driving!!

Unless you work for the AA and then you on the Taco all the time.

Oh no it isn’t . . . .

All the police work is done via the AA now!!!

depends on which police force and who bidded the best price the AA can’t handle any more they already out source most of there crappy jobs what the drivers can’t make there bonus points on or something a bit difficult and will take more then 30 mins

the old bill would be stupid to let the AA touch any police job, useless.

The company who covered Harpenden for the Police went bust on Friday afternoon, OnTime have picked up the work. Also round this area Guise Motors and Shaw Brothers both have Police contracts. None of these are the AA. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ontime keep everything in house
When I worked there we used to get parking tickets from Ontime Parking Enforcement and if you were nicked the truck or car was lifted by Ontime Recovery. We even had an internal department to deal with parking tickets, from our own company :grimacing:

The place I use to work for did the recoverys for the police, but the police had to call then AA then we were directed to to the job. The AA trucks do not do the police jobs, just the subbies. Just that the AA put a bid in to do the controling of it all. It maybe it is not all areas, but I know it is in the west midlands and Wales.

Paul

the aa do police work for the met but most of it is unmarked and goverment cars
london aa not governed by tacho rules anymore as have reverted to the 100km all they doing is dropping cars to services on the m25 and majortity of trucks been reduced to mitsubishi canters
