Recovering from the low of a failed test

OBD:
Thanks everyone for your replies, I read them last night and took a lot of heart from knowing that I wasn’t the only one to have that horrible, gutted feeling.

Today I passed my retest with 3 minors.

Congratulations

Well done mate, it was worth going for it again straight away!

Now the real learning starts, especially the squeezing in and out of tight spots, so watch that tail swing!

Best of luck pal and don’t rush ANYTHING, take your time and forget about anyone who is waiting or getting impatient.

Beez, just get your proper licence done

Congratulations on the pass.

Pete

I’m considering a restraining order for harassment mate!
And yes I’ll be there soon, but FFS I’ve only been full time on a big rigid for 4 weeks, so give me a chance pal!
Interesting what you said about an Artic cutting in less, as I hate holding the inside lane of a roundabout taking the 5th exit or something. As I have to point the nose out further than I’d like, just to stop chewing up the roundabout…
So that gives me reassurance, it now only the headboard overhang that scares me! :open_mouth:

But I assure you by the end of the year, my training will be booked! :grimacing:
Assuming I can cope with being a puddle jumper VAN driver that long! :smiling_imp:

I did it for a couple of years, if you don’t trust my judgment, go and have an assessment somewhere. Considering the length of the motor, you don’t have to “bury the nose in” anywhere near as much to get it round bends. Crap like stobarts on telly make it sound like half your reverses are blindsides, utter crap. You’ll soon work out how to convert that to your good side. The drops you’ll get will be so much easier, and way less physical

lol My dad used laugh at them on that tv show!!! Tbh I wonder how much they tried make a drama from nothing afterall how exciting can be unloading 25 pallets from a truck be!

Best one was the driver trainer that had to blindside into a loading bay at Picadilly Circus.

He was in Stobarts biggest motor that would fit.

A 7.5 tonner.

Funny that, as I used to deliver to that very same bay in an 18 every couple of weeks.

Only blind side on a 7.5 is the back door as far as I’m concerned
