I’m going to be taking a vehicle overseas for export, for a friend.
I’m doing much of the info chasing cos he’s getting married soon and is a bit busy.
anyway - I’ll need to find a friendly insurer who can either provide just 1 month’s cover - OR one who provides cancellation rebates on basis of how much you’ve used, not having to pay minimum terms of 6 months etc.
any recommendations?

are you carrying goods or just taking the truck empty ?
I use Cornish Mutual, but they only insure things from the SW !!
your best bet would be a broker, you might get away with private hgv insurance - or if it’s just a unit perhaps horsebox insurance 
NFU are good for those!!
If you paid the premium by monthly direct debit you could cancel easily without having to cough up the full amount
just a 17tn tipper, with hiab - the only load will be a stand-alone generator also being exported (as opposed to eart or produce).
